It's Atmel chipset and it should be pretty straight forward. Have anyone tried on freepia?

I undestand it based on RH7.3, but my guess is that a bunch of stuff has been updated...any insights or a list available?

thanks

yes there are some apps on my rh73 system i´ve compiled from source like the stuff for freevo/mplayer etc. but its not relevant if you just want to compile a new driver, i guess. the gcc/glibc etc. are the ones that comes with rh73.

download the new kernel config/patches and you should be able to compile the driver.

if you have no success give me a link to the drivers and i´ll try it......

I'd like to alo play around with getting my winvt pvr 250 to work and for that I need a bit more....

Would you mind listing what version of:
xfree86 (4.3.0 I assume?),
alsa(0.9.6 I assume?),
mplayer (G1-0.9) and
kernel version(I guess is 2.4.21-rc3 from looking at the website)?
(does that stand for release candidate 3?)...?
-oe any other important packages I need to install.

Have you tried the Kraxel 'mega' patch for 2.4.21 with preemptive and low latency patches and other niceties?

Did you also get the latest via drivers (audio and video) from Viaarena or are you using what is in alsa/xfree86?

Have you tried the VeXine from via?

BTW thanks for the great work you are and have been putting in. I think this is the greatest fun I've had in a long time trying to build my epia m10000 pvr box and freepia makes it a lot more easy even if I'm not even half there yet.

xfree -> 4.3.99.3
alsa -> some cvs version (2003-06-04.tar.bz2)
mplayer -> 0.90rc5-2.96
kernel -> http://195.247.254.111/freepia/kernel/2.4.21-rc2/

and all the packages you need for freevo -> http://freevo.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/m ... nstallDeps

no via drivers. alsa and xfree stuff. only the via_drv.o was a precompiled version i´ve downloaded somewhere. on the xfree site i guess !? (maybe here http://www.xfree86.org/~alanh/ i dont remember exactly.... or was it a link from the viaarena page? really dont remember :))

sorry for the late answer...

Did you get Atmel driver to work in freepia ?

Which driver did you use ? The atmelwlandriver at sf.net or at76c503a at berlois.de The 2nd one is pretty easy and it works great for me on my gentoo box. Haven't tried with freepia though as I was busy installing 2.6.0-test kernel in freepia. See a separate post for that.
